November 6 Habitat Restoration for Endangered Salmon
Join friends and neighbors in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area along the famous Lagunitas Creek and help to restore critical habitat for endangered Coho Salmon! We will be removing harmful, invasive plants and replacing them with native species beneficial to local wildlife. Come out & enjoy the sun!

November 11 Sustainability Film Series
The SRJC Student Affairs & the Associated Students final presentation for the "Fall 2010 Sustainability Film Series" features An Inconvenient Truth - Global Warming. Seating is limited & Free of charge. The goal of the film is to raise awareness of current environmental issues and offer solutions. Panel discussions will be held after the film.

See what has been called the largest, most colorful parade of its kind in Northern California as it winds its way through Historic Downtown heading south on Petaluma Boulevard.

December 3 Lighting of City Hall with Santa on the Plaza
Every year Santa Claus rides on a vintage fire truck to the Sonoma Plaza, lights up the Christmas tree and City Hall and passes out candy canes to tots.

December 3 Light Up A Life
Celebration: Hospice of Petaluma invites the community to join together in Center Park for an evening of music, inspiration and remembrance. Thousands of clear, bright lights will shine to symbolize the lives, hopes and dreams. With a $10 donation light can be dedicated in memory of honor of a loved one.

View a flotilla of decorated boats along the Petaluma River and at the downtown Turning Basin. Boats leave the Petaluma Marina at 5:30 p.m. and arrive downtown around 6:30 p.m.

December 11 - 12 Annual Occidental Crafts Faire
Handmade crafts & chances to win great gifts at the Occidental Holiday Crafts Faire. Over 35 local and regional artists, entertainment, a bucket raffle, wreaths, fabulous food, and more. Proceeds from this fundraiser are returned to the community through programs funded by the Community Council.
